At night, when I arrive home from work, we usually have our small conversations at home. We talk about our family, life lessons, celebrities, how work went that day and, sometimes, love.

Tonight is a "love" night. Well, I believe most of the girls out there experienced my dilemma right now.

Sai: Daddy, pwede na ba ko mag-boyfriend? Kasi naman di ba 23 na ko... (This is my "entrada" to Daddy to tell him that Tiger is already my boyfriend hahaha)

Daddy: Oo naman, anak!

And then my soul shouted a big YEEEEEEESSSSSSS!

At bed, I asked daddy again:

Sai: Daddy, sa Sunday papupuntahin ko dito si Gelo huh? (This is my way of saying, "Dad, I want you to meet my boyfriend" hahaha)

Daddy: Sige anak :) (another "oh yes" moment for me hahaha)

Earlier that day I made a status update in my Facebook saying:

If I'll be married someday I got a theme na! It'll be "Sex and the City" :P

And so I asked Daddy this (well, I was just thinking aloud and not talking about my current boyfriend)

Sino kaya mapapangasawa ko Daddy, no?

Then Daddy replied,

Edi si Gelo!

And that was one of my very first kilig moment because Daddy teased me haha

Sai: Daddy, when I get married I want the theme to be Sex and the City

Then, there were cricket sounds in Daddy's head

Sai: Syempre kailangan "fasyon" ang wedding ko because I'm a fashion blogger! hahaha

Daddy: ahhhhhh... Kala ko mag-du-do kayo sa harap ng tao sa City

Sai: Ano ba Daddy!!!! Sex and the City not Sex "IN" the City haha

I explained the TV series to Daddy while laughing hahaha! Daddy's innocence to shows that I watch are so hilarious every time I'm bringing it up to him hahaha :P

Now, I want to be Carrie Bradshaw when I walk down the aisle. Ammm, minus the real bird on my head hahaha

The Daddy Yoe Show Episode 3: Fireworks

I will never forget December 30, 2010! Daddy is showing a big big progress about me, my future and my maturity! He's a strict dad and I couldn't emphasize that more. That was the very reason why I don't like him when I was a teenager. People change and so is my daddy :)

Boyfriend visited me at home. We bonded and we had fun. He even played my Plants Vs. Zombies game in my laptop. He was pretty determined to beat my 12 flags in the last survival game. Well, after an hour he defeated my record! Deym! Hahaha, he made 17 flags! Woot! Great job dear!

Boyfriend: May party kami sa office. Pwede ba kita isama?

Sai: Sure. Paalam mo na lang ako kay Daddy.

Daddy was upstairs so I went to his room and asked him:

Sai: Daddy, pwede ba daw ako sumama kay John? Isasama daw nya ko sa party nila sa office.

Daddy didn't say a word but he looked at me like he was teasing me "Uyyyyy..." hahaha

Daddy: Sige. Ingat kayo.

Boom! Woot! Daddy doesn't know how happy he made me. This is the first time he allowed me to go with my boyfriend on my first LEGAL date! hahaha Woot!

We went to boyfriend's office. I met his bosses and we had fun singing Think of Laura with them and other oldies songs. While one of his boss was singing, I noticed I brought the wrong bag with me. I left my camera at home and my bag's zipper was broken.

Boyfriend: Ay! Di natin naayos yan ah!

Sai: Okay lang. Papaayos ko na lang kay Daddy tomorrow.

Boyfriend: Di mo na kailangan si Daddy. Nandito naman ako eh.

Okay! Major kilig to the bones! Yay! He's soooo like a boyfriend! I mean, sorry, I'm just amazed! That's the first time I heard a man telling me to control my Daddy's girl side. He said it with conviction and with his whole heart! Sigh! I'm so lucky I'm with a man like him!

We went home to get my camera.

(opened the door at home)

Sai: Daddddddyyyyyyyyy

(went upstairs. found daddy lying down in his bed)

Sai: Daddy, I went back to get my camera. Pupunta po kami ni John sa Marikina to watch the fireworks display

Daddy: Oh, anong oras na? (It was 11pm then) Baka naman kung saan kayo magpunta

Sai: (kissed daddy) Daddy! Anowww bahhhh!!! You have to trust me. Manonood lang kami ng fireworks, okay? I have to go. The taxi's waiting sa labas. I love you Daddy!

I went back to boyfriend, who's waiting in the cab, with a big smile in my heart. I'm so happy that Daddy's now okay with things like this. He's the kind of dad that doesn't want big surprises (by big surprises I mean sudden changes). I totally understand him with his "I can't let go of my girl easily" and I love him for that :)

Thank you heaven for making feel like I'm the luckiest girl in the world! Thanks for my boyfriend and for Daddy Yoe ^_^

I'm so lucky to have a long Christmas vacation. Thanks to our super cool boss! Cheers bossing! Hehehe ;)

I finished all my tasks today. Actually, we have work today but we can do it at home (how cool is that?). I really want to go out today. My feet are telling me to go somewhere. Anywhere but my room hahaha! Too much rest is kinda boring LOL. After I've sent all my report to our clients:

I went downstairs because I'm kinda hungry.

Sai: Dadddddddyyyyyy!

Daddy: Oh, anak! Bakit?

Sai: May tinapay ba tayo dyan? I'm hungry eh

Daddy: Teka lang, bibili ako

(After 5 minutes) I was in my room again just lurking online...

Daddy: Oh, Sai. Ito na yung kape at tinapay mo.

Sai: Thank you Daddy!

Daddy: Wala ka bang lakad ngayon

In my mind: Oh, aba! Dati ayaw ako gumagala nito ah! At ngayon pinapalayas na ko ng bahay

Sai: Wala nga daddy eh. Kanina ko pa gustong umalis :P

My daddy had changed a lot! From a monster to my best friend! Woot! I love you Daddy! Gala kami ni boyfriend pwede? hahaha

When The Boyfriend visits, Daddy roars!

Hahaha, well not literally roaring like a tiger but Daddy's a bit overprotective of his only daughter (that's me, winks). I guess this is how all dads react if their daughter is beginning to fall in love ;)

My Prince visited his Princess (that's me again, winks) tonight for some quality time together. We played my guitar and researched for a lot of songs and lyrics over the net. We had a great night.

He is my Prince Charming.

When boyfie left, I found Daddy Yoe in his room texting. I can feel him. He doesn't want the idea of having another man in my life but he's kinda preparing for that moment when he'll walk down the aisle with me and hand me over to my beloved husband (Oh gee, what a lovely dream!). I know he likes my Prince Charming. Oh gosh, I want to take a photo of them!

Daddy, don't worry. Nobody can replace you in my heart. You have the biggest part of it and I'm just clearing up a little space for my Prince Charming.

I'm so proud to be his daughter ;)

Well, there's no show actually but last night I told daddy:

Sai: Daddy, we should have a TV show! It'd be soooo cool! Sa sobrang kulit natin every day dapat i-share natin to sa mundo!

Daddy: Hahahaha

No, I mean promise, guys! When I'm at the office, I'm this serious lady doing some serious job but when I'm at home I always transform into a jolly kid who loves her Daddy soooo much! Because of our sweet nothings at home I was inspired to blog about it and then there was My Daddy Feeds Me Well!

We have a lot of conversations at home. To think there's only two mouths talking every day - mine and Daddy's. We never ran out of stories to tell. I never get tired of listening to his good old jolly Gabby adventures when my dad was still a kid. I always picture him as Tom Sawyer. Yes, that's how it is and he got a lot (I mean a lot) of stories from being poisoned to being a super hero (with matching tumbling) hahaha.

Oh well, since I have a blog, I'll host our show here (some kinda) hahaha. This is the first episode! I've been posting a lot of our kalokohan via my Facebook account and I'll be migrating those conversations here hahaha

Sai: Winner ka talaga Daddy! Like, you're so C-O-O-L!

Daddy: Bakit naman ako mag-iinit?

Sai: Huh?

Daddy: Sabi mo I'm so cool?

LOL! Hanudaw? Ganito kami kada gabi :P

Sai: Daddy, what do you think? Bagay ba kami?

Sai: Daddy! Nakakatawa ka talaga! I-s-status ko yan!

Daddy: (Tumatawa) Hoy, baka naman mabasa nya!

At concerned si Daddy na nabasa ni Tiger ang sinabi nya pero payag sya na i-status ko ang sinabi nya LOL :P

Hahaha, this is anti-Facebook flooding too on my part LOL. I'm so talkative in my Facebook account and someone even told me I should be the "Wall Post Queen" of the year! LOL, I can't help it! Daddy tolerates my big mouth! LOL

Me-Time Moments with Dove Chocolate and Daddy

This morning daddy told me that there are chocolates in the house.

Daddy: Anak, may chocolate pala dito di ka nagsasabi

Sai: Daddy, ako kaya may dala nyan!

Dove chocolate bars, Daddy ate the other chocolates so I wasn't able to take photos of them haha.

Hahaha, Daddy's so cute! He ate one bar and he told me it was really good! These chocolates are from Dove. When my officemate told me that she'll send me some Dove chocolates I was a bit confused. The only Dove I know of is the moisturizing bar hahaha. I thought, "wow nag-chocolate na rin pala ang Dove" but that's only in my mind. I know it sounds stupid and I'd be more stupid if I say it out loud hahaha :))

Oh well, here it is! Dove chocolates to fill up my tummy! My Me-time moments are always shared with the best daddy in the world - mah Daddy Yoe! Dove chocolates are new in the market and I'm very happy that we (I and Daddy) are one of the first few people to try it out first :)

Holiday Ham, the premium-cut ham

Tis the season to be jolly! Why? Because this is the season of gift giving, love and FOOOOOOOD! We all know how Filipinos love eating and preparing our foods especially if there's an occasion. If it's Christmas it's natural for us to throw a big party with our family and friends (think Dawson's Creek).

Our Yuletide celebration is not complete if the celebrity of the table is not around - ham. Speaking of hams, have you tried Holiday Ham? We love it! I and dad love it for three reasons:

It's made from one whole boneless mean from the hind leg.

It's a high-quality smoked ham.

It has no extenders!

Holiday Ham is from the hind leg which is the best cut of pork for delicious hams. This part is tastier and meatier compared to other hams in the market. I was one of the chosen bloggers to cover the Hennessy Wine Event. Special thanks to Flow for inviting me :) It was kind of sad because I was late (super late) in this event. I didn’t catch the presentation part, which was the reason why I was invited, I’m so sorry. Work is crazy! This was on a Saturday and it seems like all brands booked their events on this day so we went to a morning event (Palamantasan by Cheez Whiz) before we went here. We were actually late. I honestly did not get the chance to see Chef Meik Brammer cook his famous dishes but I get to taste it :P Below is an article from Marriott Hotel.

Mead Johnson Nutrition clarifies issues on Philippine FDA order

Everybody know AlactaGrow and Sustagen Junior - products of Mead Johnson. The Philippine FDA issued a Class III order for both products which caused the removal of all supplies/inventories of the products in the market. If you're an AlactaGrow and Sustagen Junior user and you can't find them in store shelves of your favorite grocery store, the article below explains everything:

Responding to an administrative recall order from the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to remove current supplies from distribution and sale, Mead Johnson Nutrition (MJN) Philippines assured consumers that there is no safety issue with the products Alactagrow® and Sustagen Junior®.

The Philippine FDA has issued a Class III order, the lowest level, which is used for products that have technical compliance issues. The regulatory definition of a Class III order specifically states that the use of or exposure to the product “is not likely to cause adverse health consequences.”

“Safety is Mead Johnson’s highest priority and the company spares no effort to comply with the laws of all of the countries in which it operates,” said Paul Richards, President and General Manager of Mead Johnson Nutrition Philippines. “All of the company’s products are produced in accordance with the CODEX Code of Hygienic Practice for Foods for Infants and Children.”

The Philippine FDA said it was issuing the order because the fat content in the products is below the new standard listed in the revised CODEX Standards for Follow-Up Formula, which it has recently adopted in the Philippines.

Richards explained that when the Philippine FDA recently adopted additional CODEX regulations applying specifically to follow-up formulas, Mead Johnson proactively cooperated and has stayed in frequent communication with the Philippine FDA to ensure that Mead Johnson products would continue to be available for the families that use them, and in compliance with the new regulations. The process of reformulating the products so that they comply with the new CODEX regulations is elaborate and requires considerable time so Mead Johnson requested a renewed Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) prior to the end of the product’s term. CODEX is an international organization that develops and promotes food standards.

"Our company is committed to bringing safe, effective, nutritious and high quality products to meet the nutritional needs of the Philippines’ children," said Richards.

Richards said they were surprised by the recall orders, but said they are committed to resolving the issue with the Philippine FDA so that Mead Johnson can continue to offer the children in the Philippines the many nutritional benefits of Alactagrow and Sustagen Junior.

Mead Johnson stressed that all of their products currently sold in the Philippines, including Alactagrow and Sustagen Junior, have passed stringent Philippine FDA health and safety requirements and are considered to be safe for consumption and of high quality. While the fat level requirement does not relate to the safety or quality of the product, Mead Johnson is taking steps to meet that requirement also.

Mead Johnson is launching today a reformulated version of Alactagrow that meets the new regulatory requirements. Work is also underway to develop an updated version of Sustagen to meet the revised standards.

Richards emphasized that Mead Johnson is committed to its mission to nourish the world’s children for the best start in life. Mead Johnson is involved in efforts to address malnutrition through a country-wide feeding and growth-monitoring program called Feeding Hope in partnership with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the non-government organization Kabisig ng Kalahi. In addition, since 1991 Mead Johnson has provided sustained support to children afflicted with rare metabolic diseases.

Consumer health and collaboration with the government and the Food and Drug Administration are Mead Johnson’s top priorities. The company has been for some time and is currently in regular contact with the Philippine FDA regarding the recall and the Certificate of Product Registration (CPR) for the affected products.

As 2010's Youth Olympics in Singapore kicked off the launch of its virtual games called the Odyssey, an online platform for sports competitions such as archery and swimming, it’s apparent that the sports world is tapping into the virtual realm to encourage more people to be more active. And it’s not farfetched to assume that tomorrow’s athletes might soon be battling in a slew of virtual sports competitions.

So start holding your breath - because the kids participating in the Tiger EnerGames finals at the SMX Convention Center might just be our country’s very first virtual Olympic envoys.

Emerging from various cities all over Manila, the best of 10,240 kids who participated in the eliminations round are all set to compete in Nintendo Wii sports contests such as basketball, tennis, boxing, cycling, and fencing. From morning until the afternoon, the 30 schools will all vie for the top spots for the Cubs and Tigers divisions – yet in the end, only the cream of the crop will come out victorious.

“One cannot deny the numerous benefits athletic activities have among children,” notes Frenissa Lagman, Assistant Brand Manager for Tiger. “Apart from the physical aspect, it also encourages the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and excellence among our young.”

With more and more children being drawn into virtual gaming, the Tiger EnerGames has made physical activity relevant again to kids. Last week, I was invited by a friend to join their food event at Crystal Jade. Of course, I said yes! It’s nice to test my taste buds :P

I won’t keep on talking here. I actually posted an article at Crystal Jade (you can check it if you want). Now comes the juicy and tasty part! Drum rolls please! Here are the dishes that we tried and here’s my food review.

Steamed Soupy Pork Dumpling (Xiao Long Bao)

Steamed Soupy Pork Dumpling, also known as “Xiao Long Bao” is a type of steamed dumpling from Eastern China and traditionally steamed in small bamboo baskets.

Tasting Note: Steamed Soupy Pork Dumpling “Xiao Long Bao” is a steamed dumpling, each perfectly pleated dumpling is filled with pork with a piping hot broth that is distinctively savory. You have to puncture the dumpling wrapper to let out the steam, and then slurp the soup slowly before shovelling the Xiao Long Bao down.

My Review: I actually arrived a bit late in this food tasting event so I did not get to taste this Steamed Soupy Pork Dumpling. But I heard it’s one of their best sellers. When I have a chance, I’ll bring daddy in Crystal Jade Restaurant and we’ll try this one :P

Crispy Eel

My Review: I love this Crispy Eel! The taste is very complex yet tasty!

Pork Dumpling with spicy chili sauce

Tasting Note: Delicate pork dumpling with hot and spicy chilli sauce, topped with scallions.

My Review: Very good! I love spicy foods so I really enjoyed this Pork Dumpling :)

Radish Pasty

Tasting Note: Layers of crispy turnip pastry, rich in flavour and taste

My Review: I love the mini Siopao that comes along with this Radish Pastry. There’s veggies inside which is very good!

Steamed Vegetable Bun

My Review: I love this! It’s crunchy because of the veggies inside the bun. The only thing that I don’t like in this dish is the garlic :P Not a fan :P

Cucumber

Tasting Note: A refreshing starter that is crunchy and flavourful on the plate

My Review: I love cucumbers so I enjoyed this dish :) It tastes sour, of course, but it’s delicious :)

Spicy and Sour Soup in Sichuan Style

Tasting Note: Smooth thick soup with complex taste – sour, spicy and savory with interesting crunchy texture.

My Review: I agree with the tasting note that Crystal Jade gave us. This has a weird taste – spicy and I can taste the sourness but this is a must-try! I love this!

Sautted Chicken Chunks and Cashew Nuts in Spicy Sauce

Tasting Note: Chicken chunks, tossed in a piquant dressing of soy sauce, chilli oil and Sichuan pepper. A whole carp, braised in a sauce of chilli-bean paste laced with the heady fragrances of cashew nut, ginger, garlic and spring onions.

My Review: Another tasty dish right here! The texture of the cashew nut is perfect as well as the softness of the chicken chunks :) Eating it inside the tortilla even enhanced the taste of the whole meal. I actually tried eating chicken chunks and cashew nuts first to check how good they cooked each ingredient :P

Sautted String Beans and Minced Pork with Olive

Tasting Note: Deep-fried fresh and nutritious string beans to bring out their natural sweetness. Covered in a light blanket of the special sauce, the chunks of minced pork and olive make the simple dish taste delicious.

My Review: This tastes like the usual Adobong Sitaw but something better. There’s something about the sauce :)

Noodle with Dried Shrimp and Peanut in Spicy Sauce

Tasting Note: This is a classic Chinese Sichuan noodle consists of a spicy sauce with spicy peanut sauce, vinegar and crushed peanuts served over noodle. The flavourful spicy sauce and crushed peanuts paired well with the noodles.

My Review: Hmmmmm, spicy – so I love it. I don’t like the peanut taste in the soup. It’s too much and it actually intensifies the spiciness of the dish (I think :-?)

Yang Chow Rice

Tasting Note: The recipe’s origins lie in the city of Yangzhou in the Jiangsu Province, north of Shanghai, and it’s loaded with shrimp, flavourful Chinese Sausage and egg. Every grain is tossed well with both the seasoning and ingredients, a dish meal that needs very little else except a huge appetite.

My Review: What do you expect? It’s delicious :P I like the taste of the Chinese sausage hehe :P

Mango Pudding

Tasting Note: Unlike heavier puddings thickened with cornstarch or flour, Crystal Jade’s Mango pudding’s delicate texture comes from marrying mangoes with gelatine. The delicate flavour of mango pudding makes it a popular finale every meal.

My Review: What can I say? The tasting note says it all! This is the first pudding that I actually liked. Tastes like summer because of the perfect taste of the mangoes. The sweetness is perfect as well as the texture! Perfectly cooked!

Deep Fried Souffle Ball with Red Bean Paste

Tasting Note: A traditional snack – fluffy “clouds” liked soufflé ball containing a sweet red bean paste.

My Review: Typing the word “fluffy” reminded me of Agnes from Despicable me :P She should try this and let her say, “It’s so fluffy I’m gonna die! It’s so fluffy!” hahaha. I’m not a fan of this dessert. Tastes weird. It will taste sweet at first because of the confectionary sugar and will taste weird as your taste buds touch the red bean paste.

Hot Tea

They served us hot tea. Whew! I needed this so badly! I was so full with all those small amount of dishes! *Burp* Ooops! Excuse me :P

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME MAGIC?

I did not get his name so let me just call him Chef Jang Geum (Jang Geum is a great cook from Jewel in the Palace). He showed us how they make noodles at Crystal Jade. He prepare the dough, pressed it, waved in the air and *whala* you have noodles! And what’s amazing is how he prepared the dough in the same manner but when he twists and after waving (I don’t know the right term, sorry) the dough he made different types of noodles. AMAZING O.o! Last September 6, 2010, I got invited to cover the Papa John’s Pizza Press Briefing at Shangri-La Makati Quezon Ballroom. The event is very fun and full of expectations as Papa John announces its first pizza restaurant to be available in the Philippines! Yep, you read it right! Filipinos can now experience better pizzas with Papa John’s Pizza’s better ingredients. Hint: It will be opening soon :P Papa John’s arrival in the country promises to provide a fresh, scrumptious dining experience. Papa John’s is set to open stores in major malls in Metro Manila and near residential and commercial business districts, offering both dine-in and delivery service. Whew! I’m hungry right now!

Taste ASYA (Asia) like never before!

Asia is indeed the largest continent in the planet. With its vast landscape comes a wide variety of different cuisine that you can only taste in Asia. Last August 23, 2010 I discovered a little version of Asia at ASYA!

Where else can you find Asia’s best but in a place where they offer the finest cuisine of Asia – nowhere but at ASYA. ASYA is located at Eton Centris, where a great development is happening to provide another level of urban living to people in the metro. Eton Centris is a perfect place to bring your family and friends, where you can unwind and eat delicious meals.

I had the privilege to taste some of ASYA’s menu. Check out my food review below:

This yummy sushi platter was first served in our table. See the sushi with a brown meat at the top? Yeah that one! I am not a big fan of sushis but this one made me try one. I got intrigued with its name – Scorpion Night. True to its name, it stings like a scorpion because it’s really delicious! I like the sauce where I dipped it because its spicy and I’m a huge fan of spicy foods.

This is another meal that you have to try at ASYA! This Crunchy Oyster is really good! I had some round 2 with this particular dish. I want to get more, actually, but I’m on a Metafit diet so I decided to take the eating part slowly :P

I grabbed a few bites of this menu from Mindanao (our very own!) because a fellow food blogger told me that it tastes like the original Humba from Mindanao. I haven’t been to Mindanao but just by tasting this Humba felt like I’ve tasted Mindanao! Humba is a staple food for people in Mindanao if there’s something to be celebrated. In Manila its counterpart is Menudo.

Of course, who doesn’t know what a Yang Chow Rice is? I love Yang Chow Rice so I also got some of this in my plate but just a little since I’m on a diet :P

This crispy hongkong noodles is actually a bit far for my arms to grab some so I just took a photo :P With how it looks like I’m pretty sure this is yummy too!

This is Kinunot and it’s in my comfort zone. This Filipino meal is from the Bicol region. Bicolanos like spicy and milky food. My mom used to cook Kinunot when I was young and it’s one of my favourite dishes! The Kinunot that the chef prepared for us is not as spicy as it should be. Well, I understand his point for doing that. Not all bloggers like spicy food so he played it safe by making the dish taste neutral – a bit spicy but not too spicy. Perfect!

This Turon is PERFECTTTTTT! It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and IT’S SO YUMMY I’M GONNA DIE (Agnes from Despicable me tone). I can’t say anything more. It’s really yummy!

This is out of my comfort zone. I want to taste it but nah! I don’t like the idea of “gata” (coconut milk) as a dessert. I didn’t try this. It looks yummy though :P I’m not just a fan of the “gata as dessert” idea. You can try it and comment below so that other readers can check your food review of this Melon Tapioca Pearls with Gata.

*BURP* Excuse me! I’m so full! I ate a lot during the ASYA Food Event. Food there is really great. They have a lot to offer than the dishes you see here. Price is reasonable too! Daddy actually brought his friend there last night and they enjoyed the food :P

My Daddy Feeds Me Well at Blogger Fiesta!

What else to call Blogger’s celebration of its 11th birthday but FIESTA! Fiesta, in the Philippines, is a big feast! True enough, Filipino bloggers celebrated their beloved blogging platform’s birthday with a big bang!

I brought my dad in this event :P He’s a blogger technically since this blog is about the two of us. This blog is for my daddy :P He contributes in this blog by allowing me to take photos of him and sometimes he gives me an idea on what to write next in this blog. So there, thank you daddy for being my inspiration. Daddy will have his own segment in this blog very soon so you watch out for that :)

My first Thai food experience at Marriott Hotel

Last week I was invited by a friend to experience Thai food. Because I haven’t tasted any Thai food in my entire life, I decided to go. My pre-event experience was tiring but amazing. I got lost in the middle of nowhere but luckily I was still in the Philippines. It took me one long bus ride plus two jeepney ride and a tricycle ride to go to this event. This is my first time to commute to NAIA terminal 3, where Marriott Hotel is located and I am very happy.

I was 2 hours late because I came from my day job and a loooooong ride to the venue – so please spare me :P When I got there, everyone was busy eating. Of course, my first impulse is to look for someone I know. I found my friend who invited me and I started taking pictures of the mouth-watering meals in front of me. Here are some of the pictures I took:

This was the exact meal I ate. I am currently losing some extra weight so I decided to eat a little less than I usually do :P I love the little jelly-like sweet thing on the side. I did not see what the name of the delicacy was but believe me it’s very delicious!

I love broccoli! My plate is full of broccoli hahaha!

Before I took my first bite, I noticed most bloggers taking picture of three plates on the table beside me. It was like they were the star of the night! These foods are celebrities in their own right. So when everyone else was gone it was my time to own the tasty foods using my camera.

Breaking a previous world record is already something any country will take great pride for.

But for a country to set a first in the world is something else.

Daddy where are you

I am a certified Daddy’s Girl. I know and I am not ashamed. If only I could yell at the world saying how much I love my dad, I would. Now that my parents were separated, my daddy means the world to me. I am living with him and I really enjoy it! We never ran out stories to tell. He never ran out of his own learnings to share to me. Though at times it was repetitious I really enjoy it especially when Daddy tells me his mischievous childhood experiences =)

I really love my Daddy and just the thought of losing him (because I know this will come someday) makes me the saddest person on the planet. Yesterday, Daddy woke me up really early. He was saying good bye because he will go to Nueva Ecija for a business meeting. So as I try to open my tired eyes, I kissed him good bye.

That day I went home early from work because I want to finish watching Sex and the City Season 4 and I also want to sleep early than usual. I am watching the time.

9pm…

10pm…

11pm..

12am..

I need to sleep so I just locked our gate and closed our main door without locking it so that Daddy can go inside if he arrives in the morning. So I slept..

Zzzzzzzz…

8:00 am. I stretched and I abandoned my bed to prepare for work. When I got to our living room, Daddy wasn’t there. There were times that Daddy sleeps there if he arrives real late from a business trip. Then my heart starts beating fast. Where’s my dad?

I tried to call him and I can’t reach his number. I prepared my breakfast and by the time I finished eating it my heart is still beating so fast. By then, I said, “something is wrong.” I decided not to go to work. I called all his friends and I am really worried.

I went to some of his friends to ask for him but still no sign. Oh no! I got to the point where tears are starting to build up in my eyes and I cried. Where is daddy?

I never stopped calling his number.

Dial…

Still no phone ringing…

Dial…

Ring! Ring! Ring!

Whew! I was relieved just by hearing my dad’s phone rang. Few dials more and few rings later my daddy picked up the phone.

“Daddy, where are you?” this was my instant reaction.

I am now waiting for my daddy to arrive. He is safe. I was just paranoid but this is normal, right? Whew, I can never live without my dad beside me!

To Daddy who is still on the road, keep safe and take care. Sai loves you very much!

Daddy made me a soup!

My dad really knows what I like. I was surprised today when he cooked his specialty, "sopas" or soup. It's really my favorite and my daddy's pansit :) This hot and delicious soup is perfect for today's weather. The weather here in Pasig City is a bit cloudy and rainy. I had a visitor tonight. We are talking about business. I'm just so glad that Plurk really updates me! I read in my Plurk timeline that there the moon looks so beautiful tonight.

I asked my dad to check it with me. We both looked for the moon. Because houses in our area are tall, we had a hard time looking for the perfect spot. Too bad for me and daddy because we missed the part where a star is actually on top of the beautiful crescent moon.

My little 23rd birthday celebration

This is how I started my day. I took photos of my coffee with my favorite curtain as the background :)

Last April 24, I celebrated my 23rd birthday. It was just like yesterday when I use to play Tumbang Preso and Luksong baka with my playmates and now I'm 23! I just can't believe how time flies so fast!

I usually celebrate my birthday with my family and extended family in my mom's side. This year was a whole lot different! I celebrated it with my friends, my ever loving boyfriend and just my daddy. My mom was also present but it was really Daddy Yoe who prepared the foods and who threw one great party for me!

Since me and Daddy Yoe are both born in April (April 21 and 24 to be exact), we decided to celebrate it on my birthday instead of two separate celebrations. We find it practical that way. This was the first year we celebrated it together! We use to have separate celebrations before because my dad drinks with his friends and my ninongs and I usually celebrate it just with my cousin (mom's side) and just playing around with my Tito Ben. We have guests as early as 11am. The first batch was my dad's client in his business. I was upstairs when they came. I was busy watching movies and the Big Bang Theory. I think my dad was still preparing the food that time but he made them his signature pancit. They actually ate it all! Well, that's how my dad cooks! He's the best when it comes to cooking.

My boyfriend arrived in our house around 1:30pm or 2:00pm. Actually we're fighting during that time so my birthday didn't start that well but we fixed everything before my friends arrived. My 23rd birthday celebration was very memorable! I had a lot of fun! Check out all the photos of my birthday below:

Today is my Daddy Yoe's (I call him Daddy Yoe for real) birthday! He's now *toot* (age concealed) haha! Another blessed year for my daddy!

This morning, when we are eating our breakfast, my Daddy Yoe told ne (again) his never-ending childhood misfits and adventures. You know what? Whenever he tells me those stories I just can't help but roll in our carpet! I just can't help but laugh! His childhood is like that of Tom Sawyer's! Cool!

Few decades ago, he was just this cute and mischievous boy! He's never seen without his cape on, pretending to be either superman or batman! He was his playmates heroes! If there are villains around the kiddie town, all he does to scare the enemies away is to do a cartwheel! Amazing right? Haha!

Now that he's grown up, he's not just anyone's hero. He's my Daddy Superhero! This blog was actually inspired by his life teachings, food cravings, adventures and just about anything about me and him! This is what you call father and daughter bonding! Sometimes, I feel that my dad is my soulmate.

Okay Daddy Yoe! I'm not supposed to make you famous because of this post! I just wanted to greet you a "Happy happy birthday!" I love you so much! Don't change cause you literally rock with your white hair! May the Lord bless you more! Don't worry daddy, in the NEAR future I'm going to buy your dream house for you!

I love you sooooo much and heaven knows how much! Check out my birthday gift to Daddy Yoe. It's not something that you can touch. Today, I taught him how to browse the Internet and search for reading articles since he loves reading stuffs about feng shui. See, my daddy knows how to work with Google now!

Tutti Frutti Frozen Yogurt

I decided to drop by SM Megamall today. I'm supposed to look for my new clothes and I ended up in the Mega Atrium. I was really craving for an ice cream and I decided to buy yogurt instead.

What is yogurt? A yogurt is not an ice cream. It's slightly more tart than ice cream. What I like most about yogurts is that they are low in fat. Frozen yogurt is also known as frozen yoghurt or by the tradenames Froyo and Frogurt.

Nowadays, yogurts are mostly served as ice cream. Especially today that summer is here. The sun is just as hot as hell! You need some refreshments and frozen yogurts are the best way to take that hot feeling away. Most of the time, frozen yogurts are served with different toppings. I tried the Tutti Frutti Strawberry Yogurt and it's great! I topped it with almonds and added a strawberry wafer stick on the side. I also love the purple spoon! It's so girly! Haha

Daddy's Fried Fish Recipe

My daddy is the best chef in the world. Of course, that's my own opinion. Your dad can be the best too. So this world is full of best chefs LOL. I found these photos in my computer. I remember what Daddy cooked as part of our New Year's Eve menu. Looking at this photo makes all the saliva drool over my mouth. I think I'll make him cook this one again anytime this week.

I'm not a fan of cooking but I'm a big fan of eating hahaha. I guess I'm still not at that point where I'm super interested in cooking. Though I don't cook, I know how Daddy made these delectable fried fish meal. I don't cook because I'm afraid of knives. I slice my own fingers haha, now that's gross but yeah going back to the recipe here's how this Daddy's fried fish recipe is done:

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 kilo fish fillets (of course you can add the quantity if you like)

all-purpose flour

pepper

4 medium-sized eggs, beaten

butter

breadcrumbs

mayonnaise

catsup

PROCEDURE:

Beat eggs and set aside.
Mix all-purpose flour with pepper and breadcrumbs.
You can cut your fish fillets into desired sizes. But Daddy cut them into bite-sized fillets so that you can easily get and eat them haha.
Preheat frying pan until desired temperature is achieved. I'm not good in Math so I don't exactly know the right temperature but if you see your pan smoking that's a sign you have to follow the next step.
If you think your pan is heated enough, put your butter now. This serves as your cooking oil so no need to put some in your frying pan. The butter adds a very delicious taste to your fish fillets.
While waiting for the butter to melt, get your fish fillets and roll it on your beaten eggs.
After rolling the fillets in the eggs, roll it to your flour mixture.
Once done, put your fish fillets in your frying pan.
Wait until golden brown.
Put it on a plate with tissue on it so that excess butter will be absorbed.
Plate it however you like it. Good plating will make your food looks yummy. Daddy decided to garnish it with strawberries just to add color.
Mix equal amount of mayonnaise and catsup in a side dish plate. This serves as your dip. After doing this we're done!

Chocolate Beehive Meringue

For our free recipe of the day, we have Chocolate Beehive Meringue.

Indredients:

200g	Anchor Unsalted Butter
280ml	Anchor Fresh Milk Regular
200g	Cake flour
1c	Cocoa powder
8Tbsp	Baking powder
1tsp	Salt
140g	White Sugar
140g	Light brown sugar
2Tbsp	Vanilla
3 pcs	Eggs
8 pcs	Egg whites
1/2 tsp	Cream of tartar
1 1/2c	White Sugar
1c	Chocolate, melted

Procedure:

Preheat oven to 350F. Put muffin paper in muffin pans. Set aside.
In a bowl, sift the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, cream the butter and white and brown sugar till well combined. Add vanilla and eggs. Alternately add the sifted flour mixture and the Fresh milk.
Fill in the muffin cups with the cake mixture till ¾ full. Bake for 25-30mins or until done.
Set aside to cool while preparing the meringue.
In a clean bowl or using a mixer, place the eggwhites and cream of tartar then whisk till light and frothy about 3 minutes. Add the sugar gradually till mixture is stiff and glossy. Put mixture in a piping bag with round tip then pipe over the chocolate cake starting from the bottom going up to form a beehive. Bake in the oven or broiler till tops are light brown.
When cooled, drizzle melted chocolate of top, letting it flow on the sides of the meringue. Makes 12-15.

Creamy Chicken Cheese Spread

Ingredients

3 tbsp	Anchor whipping Cream
1/4 c	Anchor Cream Cheese
2 pcs	Chicken breast, deboned
1/4 c	Mayonnaise
3 tbsp	Pickle relish
4 pcs	fresh or canned asparagus
	Salt and pepper to taste

Procedure:

Cook the chicken breast in boiling water and season with salt and peppercorns. Once chicken is cooked drain and cut into cubes and place in a mixing bowl.
Blanch the asparagus, drain and let cool. Cut the asparagus into small pieces and add to the cooked chicken.
In a separate bowl, mix the cream cheese, whipping cream and mayonnaise and season with salt and pepper and pickle relish. Add the chicken and asparagus and mix well.

Transfer to a Refrigerate. Best served when chilled.

Coffee Milkshake
Ingredients:

2 cup, Anchor Fresh Milk Regular
1/2 cup, Anchor Whipping Cream
1 cup, Chilled Coffee
1 Tbsp, 1T sugar
1 drop vanilla
4 scoops coffee crumble ice cream

Procedure:

Combine all ingredients in a blender
Serve at once
Serves 4-5
